PDC Q School 2025 Kicks Off: Star-Studded Battles for Tour Cards

Today marks the start of the PDC Q School, specifically its first phase. The European section features 445 dart players competing in Kalkar, Germany, while 309 players have joined the British section in Milton Keynes.

Notable participants in Kalkar include Germany’s own Max Hopp and Marcel Althaus, along with former Tour Card holder Brian Raman. Players who took part in the 2025 PDC World Championship, such as Romeo Grbavac and Kai Gotthardt, are also present. Other significant names include Rusty-Jake Rodriguez, Krzysztof Kciuk, and Noa-Lynn van Leuven, who secured second place in the Women’s Series rankings.

In the UK, attention is focused on Shane McGuirk, the recent WDF World Champion. Former world champions such as Scott Mitchell, John Part, and Scott Waites are also in contention. Fallon Sherrock, Richie Burnett, and Cam Crabtree are among those attempting to earn a Tour Card, alongside former cardholders like Alan Norris, Robert Thornton, and Steve West.

The first phase consists of three tournaments held from Monday to Wednesday. The top eight players from each tournament will advance directly to the second phase. Additionally, players earn one point for each match won from the L256 stage onward. Approximately the top 80 players from each Q School ranking after three days will also progress to the next phase.
