Wales' Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton secured the second PDC World Cup of Darts title in the last four years. They defeated Scotland's Peter Wright and Gary Anderson in the final in Frankfurt.
Gerwyn Price and Jonny Clayton started the tournament as the second seeded country after Dirk van Duijvenbode replacing Michael van Gerwen. They demolished Denmark 8-2 in their first match on Saturday with average almost 100.
Wales struggled against Sweden but still managed to win 8-5 and Belgium caused them the biggest troubles in the semi-finals. Dimitri van den Bergh and Kim Huybrechts were loosing the whole match but it was very tight and Clayton took out 100 to secure place in the final.
Scotland started with 8-5 win over Phillipines and fantastic whitewash of France in quarter-finals. However, averages of Peter Wright and Gary Anderson were not such great as the Welsh ones. They defeated German duo Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler 8-5 in front of their home crowd and secured the fourth World Cup of Darts final for Scotland, one less than Wales.
Welsh duo was dominant in the final, especially Jonny Clayton who had awesome scoring 119.4 and missed only on dart on the doubles (which he was not even trying to get in the last leg!). Wales won 10-2 and secured the second title since 2020.
