Martijn Dragt came back to secure PDC Tour Card

Final Stage of European Q School started in Kalkar on Thursday with many well known darts players. There is one Tour Card for every winner of four days and also for the best 13 players from the ranking.

L128

Rusty-Jake Rodriguez stopped Max Hopp's hopes in the first round on day one, as he averaged almost 95. Damian Mol or Krzyszytof Kciuk who lost their Tour Cards after World Championship also lost their first round matches. Danny Jansen lost the Dutch derby against Chris Landman 4-6.

The fifth players of the 2023 PDC Development Tour, Sebastian Bialecki lost 5-6 to William Leijten from Netherland after dramatic match. The biggest Swiss hope, Stefan Bellmon lost to Kevin Troppman. On the other hand, World Championship players Haupai Puha or Jules van Dongen managed to go through the first round.

L64

Current WDF World Champion Andy Baetens struggled on the first day of Final Stage as he lost in L64 and did not gain any point. He averaged only 79,04. PDC World Championship attendant Marko Kantele was defeated by former BDO World Champion Christian Kist, while his fellow countryman Keskinarkaus lost to Benjamin Drue Reus who played one of the best darts of the second round, averiging 102,51. Japanese Ryuta Arihara had average over 104 and demolished Jimmy van Schie. 

L32

12 players out of 32 was from Netherland and another 6 from Germany! What a dominance. However, only five Dutches progress to another round as Ron Meulenkamp or Jelle Klaasen lost their matches. Darius Labanauskas was losing 4-5 but came back and won in the third round.

L16

Many former Tour Card Holders lost in Last 16. German player Lukas Wenig defeated US players with Dutch roots Jules van Dongen. Another Dutch players defeated Rusty-Jake Rodriguez and Radek Szaganski. New Zealand ace, Haupai Puha, lost to Czech youngster Tomas Houdek.

QF

Total Benelux domination in the European Q School as three players from Netherland and one from Belgium progress to semifinals. Kist and Dragt had some issues but managed to win their matches.

Dutch players won both matches in the semifinals. Landman lost only three legs against Kist while Dragt had to come back from 0-3, 2-4 and 4-5 against Mario Vandenbogaerde.
